Strip off

Strip off

Strip off

Insecurities,

past memories that hurt,

amplified fears .

Unbutton every garment,

toss it to the trash

-not in the recycling purple booth near my house,

these garments are not for anyone to wear, highly uncomfortable

and the fabric is itchy, it brings frustration –

Layer upon layer,

years of collecting,

burdening my body.

I will take them off

pop myself naked into the bathtub

cleanse my skin off the touch of the garments in question,

scrub hard until every unwanted dying cell

disappears in the sewage.

Unclothed and wet,

lighter,

I will go out shopping.
